In short: Docket Dime runs entirely inside your web browser. It reads the PACER transaction receipts on court pages you open, records your PACER fees on your own device, and never sends your data anywhere. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.
This policy applies to the Docket Dime browser extension ("the extension"), published by Tomas K. Butcher (Butcher Law Office LLC). It describes what the extension accesses, how that information is handled, and the choices available to you.
On U.S. federal court CM/ECF and PACER pages (on uscourts.gov) that you load, the extension reads the "PACER Service Center Transaction Receipt" and docket text already shown on the page in order to record your billing activity. This may include: the date and time of the transaction, the court, the case number and case caption, your PACER client code (if you use one), the document number and its description, the billable page count, and the cost.
The extension does not log in for you, run searches, click links, or request any court page on its own. It only reads what is already displayed on pages you choose to visit.
Everything the extension records is stored locally on your device, using your browser's local extension storage. It is not uploaded to the developer, is not shared with any third party, and is not synced to your other devices. It remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the extension.
When you save a court document, the extension may suggest a readable file name. When you use Export or Backup, it generates a CSV or JSON file and saves it to the location you choose. These files are produced locally and go only where you direct them; the developer never receives a copy.
If you use the built-in issue-report link, it opens a draft email in your own email program, addressed to the developer. The pre-filled diagnostics contain only technical details — the court code, the page path, an error reason, the extension version, and your browser version — and deliberately exclude case names, captions, and client codes. No email is sent unless you choose to send it.
